I heard this mentioned while listening to marketplace on my local NPR station, WBEZ Chicago. Called Budget Hero, its a flash game that allows you to take control of the federal budget. You can make choices to decrease military spending, and increase education spending (my personal vote) and get even more granular by deciding to end the missile defense program or raise the Social Security age. You can see how your choices affect American’s today, and in the future. With GDP to import calculation and national debt barometer, and at the end of your experiment you get a nice summery screen that could be used to evaluate your students or analyze their choice.
